I'm fascinated by this book - or the overall question. I am curious to know how many people in his survey that are "godly" adults now didn't grow up in the "right" home. As I look at my grandparents and now parents and their parenting, the one thing I think I've concluded is that a parent has to live a very open and passionate life of following Christ. Hypocrisy is a killer. That wasn't stated well, but I think you'll get it. Parenting styles are much less important than how a life is lived.

ReplyDeleteI think you're right. I wonder, though, if passionately spiritual parents of integrity can undermine their kids' faith by using bad parenting skills?
And, on another theme, does love really cover a multitude of parenting "sins"?
